Add a stunning ornament to your kitchen or dining room with this fabulous range of famous gluggle jugs by The Gluggle Jug Factory. Perfect for containing water or your favourite beverage at the table and hear it's unique 'glugging' sound when poured.
They are so named as 'gluggle' or 'glug glug' jugs due to their glug noise which occurs when pouring from the jug. Each jug in this range is decorated with the same design but are available in a range of beautiful colours. The unique design which traps air and creates the glug noise when poured has not altered in nearly 150 years.
Gluggle Jugs was established in 2009 and, in partnership with Wade Ceramics, developed a range of gluggle jugs—also known as glug glug jugs and gurgle jugs—based on an original design over 100 years old. This distinctive style of jug was first produced in Staffordshire in the late 1870s. The most recognized manufacturer of Gluggle jugs was Dartmouth Pottery, which closed in 2002 when Wade Ceramics acquired the Gluggle jug mould.
In December 2022, Wade went into administration, but The Gluggle Jug Factory successfully reopened in Stoke-on-Trent. The factory not only resumed production but also rehired the entire team, ensuring the continuation of this beloved product line.
